The book at the link below provides principles and practical steps that help you use the Power To Get Wealth. By 1992, we had $135,000 of debt and a negative $35,000 net worth. Financial bondage and turmoil led me to seek principles and a process for employing good stewardship. As a result, we became constructively debt-free in 1998, mortgage free January 2004, millionaires in 2012, multi-millionaires shortly thereafter, and retired in 2018 in my mid-fifties from public servant jobs while giving abundantly to fund the gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ. The same power is available to you!

MoneyWalk 213 Arrogance & Riches

This program will help you undo financial bondage.

You can be rich without being arrogant! There are many wealthy people who are not respecters-of-persons. They do not look down their noses at other people because of their station in life and they genuinely try to help lift others up to the spiritual and natural state of blessedness that Christ wants each person to experience.

Yet, there are times when people will call you arrogant because they’ve mistaken it for godly confidence. We must certainly allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate areas of our life where we may be thinking or acting in an arrogant manner and make practical changes to be more Christ-like because greater natural stature (riches, power, position, fame, etc.) attracts demons that tempt you to put off Christ-likeness and believe you’re more special to the Lord than other people because your brilliance, the work of your hands, and self-sufficiency advanced you to the stature you have among men.

Spirits of arrogance are particularly attracted to rich people to a greater degree than the general populace, especially with regard to respecting persons. They tempt the unwary person to become haughty about himself and his accomplishments and lead him to think he’s better than everyone who hasn’t attained a level of wealth set in his mind as the level necessary to be recognized and loved by man and/or God as a person of great vision, purpose, and destiny.

No doubt, people who are poor can be arrogant as well. Their arrogance generally initiates from the idea that their poverty makes them more acceptable to God than other people because they seem to have no regard for money. They are not more special because they’ve taken a vow of poverty or have a mindset of not doing things the bible says everyone should do like (1) working faithfully to earn income to take care of your family, (2) faithfully and consistently tithe and give to spread the gospel throughout the earth, (3) manage money properly per scriptural principles, (4) eliminate and stay out of debt, and (5) save and invest a reasonable portion of cash flow to make it grow for future benefit of the kingdom mission to benefit others and to cover emergency problems that may come up as you walk the road of life.

Everyone rich, poor, and in-between must recognize the evil intentions of demons that tempt one to be arrogant. To fend them off, regularly read the bible and daily fellowship with the Lord via worship, praise, and prayer and fellowship with a local bible-believing church in order to understand that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female and that all who truly believe in Him have His richness living inside them. His way is for you to recognize your lowly position on earth no matter how many accolades men give you, yet to recognize your high position in Him where you and others who are saved, no matter their earthly station, are seated with Him in Heavenly places. Never believe the lie that another person is less desirable to God than you are because of their earthly material wealth or lack thereof.

By all means, you should practically per scriptural principles do all you can to increase the life and money He entrusts to you so you can be a greater blessing to others. And, you should be an example to others in this endeavor in the same manner as the first two servants in the Parables of the Talents that traded the money entrusted to them and doubled it. They received the encouraging words “Well done my good and faithful servant. Now, enter into the joy of your Lord!” As you prosper in the earth by managing money according to biblical principles, don’t accept arrogance demons in your life or else you’ll experience negative results in your life and fail to be the loving example the Lord wants you to be.
